The Red Planet and the Pink City

In 1969, Telespazio enabled the live broadcast of Man’s first steps on the Moon. In 2022, we are involved in three missions on the surface of Mars led by NASA and CNES. The Red Planet is probed and examined from the Pink City. The goal is to find evidence of any life forms that may once have existed. In charge of operations involving the Perseverance and Curiosity rovers as well as the InSight lander, a team of Telespazio engineers seconded to the CNES is helping to shed light on the mysterious past of this distant cousin. Very distant, in fact, since she lives some 225 to 400 million kilometres away…

French Southern and Antarctic Lands (TAAF) (episode 3): the possibility of a social life by satellite

In this third and final episode, we’re going to take a look at telecommunications in the TAAF, a major challenge for these isolated territories, where keeping in touch with the rest of the world is paramount to survival, from a human as well as a scientific standpoint. The mission entrusted to Telespazio is nothing short of a request to build a genuine communication channel between people, using the satellite resources deployed, even in the most remote corners of the world.
