Galileo Emergency Warning Satellite Service (EWSS) : satellite-based public warning through the EU's sovereign Galileo constellation.

When disaster strikes, terrestrial networks are often the first to fail. Galileo EWSS broadcasts emergency alerts straight from satellite to the population at risk: reaching smartphones and fixed warning devices, even when mobile networks are down.

An integrated solution: Meerkat by Telespazio

Meerkat© embedded software turns a Galileo EWSS satellite signal into a clear, simple and efficient alert on the ground.

For alerting authorities, alert reception is continuously monitored, and the entire fleet of receivers is maintained through the Meerkat© Service Centre.

1 Fixed receivers

Sirens, long-range speakers, digital panels and in-building warning systems: the devices that reach people in public spaces.

2 Meerkat© embedded sw

Runs on each receiver. Decodes the Galileo EWSS signal and renders it into a broadcastable alert audio, video or text.

3 Meerkat© Data Collection

Collects data from every deployed module, exposes it through a data API, and pushes patches and updates across the fleet.
