Toulouse Space Show: The Space to be
11 July 2018
From 26 to 28 June, Telespazio France attended the Pierre Baudis Convention Centre for the sixth Toulouse Space Show. With more than 350 exhibitors and 3000 participants from all over the world, including the major players, decision-makers and entrepreneurs in the space sector, the Toulouse Space Show has emerged as an unmissable event for the space world and its applications. In the spotlight this year, China was represented by thirty people from the Chinese space programme.
Organised around three major parts - a business convention, panel discussions led by world-class speakers and, most importantly, an international fair showcasing the expertise of the space industry - this event was focused on the “new space” market. Growing interest in innovative space solutions is helping to support the nanosatellites trend, and is opening up the space industry to new horizons. The first two days of the forum were dedicated to new space economic models and disruptive technologies, while the final day addressed satellite observation of climate change.
For Telespazio France, the Toulouse Space Show has been a special area for discussion with all the players in the sector, from service providers and solution developers to users: ministries, communities, professional unions, etc. Corinne Mailles, Deputy Managing Director of Telespazio France, opened the event alongside Viktoria Otero Del Val, Vice President of Innovation & Strategy at Thales Alenia Space, by presenting the new challenges faced by the space sector and highlighting the assets of the Space Alliance.
It is also worth noting the participation of Massimo Comparini (Director of the Geo-Information Line of Business for the Telespazio group and CEO of its subsidiary e-GEOS) at the discussion panel on the revolution in the sector of Earth Observation.
The energy of the 2018 show cements Toulouse’s position as a key crossroads at the heart of the development of the space sector.
