The main R&D projects currently under development are:

GRALLE – Galileo Reliable Automatic Low Latent Emergency warning service

GRALLE is a project of the European Commission aiming to define, design and demonstrate a global warning service to populations based on signals from the European GNSS constellation Galileo, in the event of natural or industrial disasters or terrorist attacks.

Telespazio France carried out the activities of specification and definition of the operational service, prototyping, organisation and execution of demonstrations. The demonstrations took place in France, Italy and Australia in cooperation with Météo France, Dipartimento Regionale della Protezione Civile (Italy), Emergency Management Victoria (Australia) and the Cabinet Office (Japanese Government).

HELP112 – 112 is a single European emergency number

HELP112 II is a European Commission initiative to deploy the AML (Advanced Mobile Location, ETSI TR103393) solution in 7 European countries. AML allows, when calling 112 from a smartphone, the position of the smartphone to be sent automatically. This position, based in particular on GNSS (Galileo, GPS, etc.), makes it possible to locate an emergency call to within about ten metres, whereas the position based on the cellular network is accurate to within a kilometre.

Telespazio France, project leader, and its 10 European partners (the European Emergency Number Association (EENA), PTOMELUS Consulting Group, Creativity Software and the entities responsible for the emergency services in each country) have successfully deployed AML in the 7 countries: Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Portugal and Sweden.

By the end of the project, many lives had been saved thanks to AML.

FLAMINGO – Fulfilling enhanced Location Accuracy in the Mass-market through Initial Galileo services

Telespazio France takes part in Flamingo initiative that aims to develop and deliver high accuracy and reliable positioning and navigation services targeted to mass market segment. The planned activities are focused on the definition of IoT and LBS applications.

CISE Datamining – A CISE-Gateway based Data Mining Service

Telespazio France takes part in CISE Datamining project that aims to implement a Common Information Sharing Environment (CISE) for the EU maritime domain. The CISE DMS R&D project is to implement the algorithms allowing, from data exchanged through the EU CISE (Common Information Sharing Environment) infrastructure like AIS or information from the satellite images to characterize the level of confidence that can be granted in the information. Few services are developed: Check data coming from different ship databases, Ship motion prediction, Data Fusion (AIS / satellite observations), Pattern of life.
